WP5. Lessons and policy recommendations

Coordinator: University of Reggio Calabria

Focus and objectives

The focus of this final WP is on lessons learned from all previous analyses and policy recommendations. A first step involves comparing and identifying the key factors that have enhanced or hindered policy implementation and socioeconomic development in the different contexts. Particular attention is given to the more or less functional relationships between the different government tiers: EU, national, regional and local, as well as to the agency capabilities of local actors and the local governance processes. Subsequently, recommendations are formulated pointing to an articulated regional policy architecture that can ‘tailor’ public strategies and tools in function of regional specificities and identify the government level best suited to implement them.
