WP3. Regional trajectories

Coordinator: University of Naples

Focus and objectives

This WP investigates policy implementation processes and their socioeconomic impacts in the five regions of Apulia, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, and Sicily, which all exhibit a per capita GDP still below 75% of the EU-27, but are also characterized by relevant differences in demography, infrastructure, urbanization, productive and social structure, quality of institutions. The aim of the WP is to compare the five regional trajectories and assess how endogenous factors have conditioned regional policy implementation and outcomes, from 3 main perspectives:

  1. Productive and social structures
  2. Infrastructure and the governance of territorial transformation
  3. Institutional and social capital
